Update on my life.
Ok so I know I haven’t been on here in awhile. Life’s been pretty chaotic lately. So, I thought I put up an update for anyone who’s interested.
Where to start….well, the Yanks have been doing better with the return of A-Rod and Posada to the lineup, and Damon and Giambi have been on fire. I can’t say that we’re doing great, but we’re doing ok. All Star tickets go on sale today so I’m hoping to snag a pair on my pre-sale. I’ll let you guys know how that turns out. I’ve never been to an All Star Game so I think this will be a good experience.
I finally took a visit to Shea Stadium to watch a Mets vs Dodgers game. I had never been to Shea so I thought I would go see it before it too closed. I also wanted to see how Torre’s (the better Joe) new team was coming. I only have one thing to say about Shea, and it is that I will never ever again complain about how bad Yankee Stadium is getting. It was all together a horrible experience.
Other than baseball…lol things have pretty much been the same. Working and then going home and working. I did go into the city on the 7th to have dinner and see Mama Mia on broadway again. If you haveb’t seen it yet, then go see it. It’s a truly phenomenal show that makes you laugh the whole way through. Well, if I can think of anymore I’ll add more later.

Can this team get any worse?!?
The answer….yes it can. My birthday was this past Sunday. Matt and I went to see the Yankees vs. Mets game. What a horrible birthday. If you don’t follow baseball, the Yankess lost terribly 2-11. Now Tuesday I am watching the most depressing season continue to get worse. A-Rod came back today, but its no use. It is the top of the 4th and we are losing 0-11 to the Baltimore Orioles. What the hell is going on?!? Our team hasn’t been this bad since the 80’s. And to top it off, Cabrera hit Jeter in the wrist. It actually sounded like a ball hitting the bat, but it did actually hit his wrist. I do hope that its not broken. That’s all we need.
Back to the problem with our team this year… I do think that the new coaching staff does have a lot to do with it. Back when we had Torre, we also had Ron “Gator/Lousiana Lightning” Guidry and Don “Donnie Baseball” Mattingly on our coaching staff. Two great veterans who actually knew a lot about the game of baseball. Now, we have who??? Bobby Meacham (sp?)??? A man who got sent back down to the minor leagues more than any other player I know. We are lacking serious veteran leadership. And granted Joe Girardi was a great catcher and he did turn the Mrlins around, but he is no Torre. Steinbrenner needs to do with Girardi what he did with Billy Martin. Threaten to fire him mid season if he doesn’t start winning. Maybe that will light a fire under him. I can find no other reason that our team would be doing so badly other than the lack of good coaching. GET RID OF THEM!!!!
Also, on a side note…I heard a rumor that Goose called Joba and told him that his little fist pumping celebration after a strike out was not becoming of a Yankee. If you’ve read my previous blog you will remember that I find the emotion in the younger players to help the fans relate to the players more. My message to Goose…leave Joba alone!!!!
Well, off I’m turning this insanely depressing game. I can’t bring myself to watch it anymore. I seriously just want to bawl my eyes out. I’ll try to write about something a little more happy tomorrow.

This is totally depressing…
Ok so as I sit here and watch the Yanks lose another game horribly, I start to wonder why it is that this team just cannot perform. The Yankees probably have one of the best teams put together out there. How can a team of “superstars” be doing so badly? Was it a bad thing to get rid of Joe Torre?? I’m starting to think so. At the moment it is the 6th inning and we are down Rays 6 Yanks 0. Andy had another bad night, but you’ll rarely catch me saying anything bad about him (he’s been my favorite player since the 90’s).
I find more enjoyment watching the younger Rookies play. They bring so much emotion and determination into this great game of baseball. Yet certain sports talk radio hosts condemn the emotion shown by players such as Joba Chamberlain and Shelley Duncan. I think that celebrating a strikeout or a great hit exhilirating. It helps the fans connect to the players.
Well, now I’m rambling again. So, if you have any comments on the team so far this year, or a favorite player, discuss. Do you prefer watching the veterans play? or the rookies? Is emotion on the field a good thing? or a bad thing? Let your voice be heard.

Some New Poetry…
Well, I wrote a new poem and just thought I would share it with everyone. So, without further adieu here it is:
The light filtered through the canopy of leaves,
As she walked slowly through the woods.
Twigs snap beneath her feet,
Echoing through the trees. She continues along her aimless path.
Longing to feel the warmth of the sun,
To smell the sweet scent of flora,
To feel alive once more.
Her life until now has been full of darkness,
As if she were under a gloomy rain cloud.
Countless nights had she lain awake,
With warm tears falling down her face.
Mourning over a great life lost,
Or a love not returned.
But the time had come that she pined for the light,
And the happiness that she used to feel.
She dreamed of the day she could show her smile,
And carelessly laugh as if nothing were wrong.
So on she hiked through the brambles,
Of the forest that was her life.
The journey was not easy,
It tested her strength and perseverance.
After many trials and tribulations,
A light could be seen.
The light of salvation had finally come.
She stepped out into light.
A ray of sunlight warmed her skin.
Bringing a rosy color to her cheeks.
The wind blew a strand of hair across her face,
Carrying the sweet smell of the flowers to her nostrils.
At last she was free,
To live the life she had always dreamed of.

Just another f@#$’d up Monday.
Why is it that Mondays always suck? There’s always more traffic in the morning, the weirdos call at work, and no one in the office seems to want to work. I always joke with my co-workers that we could film our own TV show that would top “The Office”, with all of the drama that goes on in the company.
Let me explain a little more. I work for a small glass company. We do showcases, mirrors, showers, storefronts, etc. The owner is away on his third vacation of the year in Aruba (yes 3 vacations so far in only 5 months). So, as always when the boss is away most people in the company find some excuse not to work. One co-worker comes in complaining of back pain, another is sitting on the computer ordering things for his house, and my favorite always complaining co-worker is on personal calls most of the day (although she claims she nevers makes long personal calls…very funny).
So that would leave my boss and I to take care of the issues. It seems as if being the youngest in a company leaves you the one who gets sh*t on. When the other “workers” in our office don’t want to do the petty work, they throw it on me. Now, the only way to describe my desk is disastrous. I always have things to do. I would say a good 85% of our company’s work comes through our office.
That said this Monday was full of me doing other people’s work, answering the phone calls of impatient people that no one else wants to call back, and doing my own work. And to top it off my always complaining co-worker stops me every time I pass her viinity to b*tch about something different, or the same thing for the 10th time of the day. There are some days after hearing the same thing over and over again that I just want to say very mean things to her. But, I’m such a good girl that I shut my mouth and walk away. I’ve gotten very good at curbing my language.
So, finally 4:00pm rolls around and its time to go home. Of course I get stuck behind people who do not know how to drive (as I’m convinced that most people do not know how to anymore). After sitting behind some woman going 45 on the Garden State Parkway (mind you its a 55 zone) for 20 minutes, I make it home. Then its off to my second job of cooking, cleaning, and taking care of the dog (who’s currently sitting at my feet in her new Yankees Princess shirt).
Now at 8:00 pm I can finally sit down to check my emails, listen to the Nine Inch Nails’ new CD (which you can download on their site here for free as a gift from the band http://dl.nin.com/theslip/signup), drink a Smirnoff Twisted or two (I’m not a beer drinker), and post a little bit here. The Yanks are off tonight so no game to watch. I may list a little bit on ebay tonight. I gotta get the money together to pay for All Star tickets, as we have the Season Ticket Holders ptesale coming up at the end of this month. I’m praying that we can get them this year. I’ve always wanted to go to one but they’ve always been so far away.
Well, I’ll stop ranting for now as I’ve probably bored you all out of your mind so far. Hope everyone else is having a better Monday than I am. Happy Cinco de Mayo to you all!

New York Yankess vs Seattle Mariners May 04,2008
I am a big fan of baseball as a sport in general. I will watch any game that is on. But, my team of preference (if you haven’t guessed by my username) is the New York Yankees. Being as I do love them so much, I have had season tickets for three years now. I am an avid scorekeeper and love talking statistics. This means you will be hearing a lot about baseball as the blog continues.
Today was the game against the Seattle Mariners. First off I must say that Darryl Rasner did a great job today (other than the homerun ball in the first inning). He was on target and got the job done for a full 6 innings. The bats relly gave Rasner a little room as well with the back to back Homeruns in the 3rd inning by Melky Cabrera and Robinson Cano (I had a feeling he was due for one). There were a few amazing plays this game. Jeter made a few great plays (as usual) and Johnny Damon dove face first to stop a base hit.
In the seventh inning the Yanks brought in Ross Ohlendorf (don’t kill me if I didn’t spell it right..it’s not the easiest name to remember). I personally love watching him pitch. It makes me laugh. Ohlendorf brings his leg so far around that I swear one of these days he’s going to fall straight over. He pitched a great inning allowing only 1 hit and ended it with a strikeout to Balantine, who was stuck looking for the ball. In the eighth inning Kyle Farnsworth was brought in. Now I’m not too fond of Farnsworth. It seems as if he’s either really “on” or extremely “off”. So, my confidence isn’t so great when it comes to bringing him into the game. But, being as we had an 8-2 lead I wasn’t to worried. Surprisingly he caught me off guard and pitched a good inning. The game ended with one of the greatest closers in baseball. I have been attending games since I was around 8 years old, but I am still in awe when Mariano Rivera steps out of the Bullpen and runs out onto the field. The man definately does deserve the standing ovation that he gets. Mo shut the game down with a 1,2,3 inning and the Yanks took home the win 8-2. So, came and end to a great Sunday game.
Well, that’s about all for tonight. It after midnight, I’m sunburned from sitting out at the Stadium (stupid NY weather), tired from the subways, trains, light rails, etc. , and I still have to order my Joba Chamberlain jersey tonight. I’ll update you on my life more tomorrow. Hope everyone has a great night and thanks for reading.

Just another day….
Ok so first to start off, this is my first blog on here. My friends told me that I should have a blog on here, due to the fact that A) I never call anyone back and B) I love to blog. So be prepared to be bombarded with my random thoughts and activities as they come to my mind. God save the souls of those who come to read this.
